My collie, Taz, who is an agility dog, has benefited tremendously from having Bowen Therapy . He normally does not like being handled and gets stressed when treated by the Vet.
Bowen was recommended to me, as a gentle therapy. After a few sessions I noticed a difference. Not only had it helped his body to release tensions but this was noticeable especially through the condition of his coat. Improvements to his back and shoulder were not the only noticeable difference as his temperament too seemed to improve and he became a much more confident and less aggressive animal.
My younger dog also competes in agility and I have noticed a beneficial change in his performance following Bowen Treatment. I can thoroughly recommend Bowen Therapy for both dogs and humans alike.
Tom is a Bichon Bolognese dog who has been disabled since birth, due to a deformity of his right front leg. He therefore only functions on three legs. Because of the position of his deformed leg, he had an operation to remove his claws and bone so that they would not grow again.
Tom learnt to walk by hopping like a rabbit. However, as he grew and because of his unusual way of moving, his spine began to curve quite significantly, which impaired his already limited mobility.
Christine was recommended to me by a dog walker, who had treated her dog with the Bowen Technique.
Over the past two years Christine has treated Tom on a monthly basis with remarkable results. His spine is now straight. A number of people have commented on this. Prior to receiving Bowen Treatment, he was unable to walk any distance and had to be taken out in a buggy. He now walks with my other dogs and is able to walk long distances. His confidence has also grown enormously and he seems much happier.
Two other dogs who live with Tom are Willow and Patsy. Both are fifteen years of age. Christine regularly treats them for arthritis. Both are still very active and well and I am sure the Bowen keeps them going.
I can thoroughly recommend Christine who has a very calming influence and is an expert in her field of work.
I can’t thank Christine enough for the priceless extra months her dedication, love and skill gave me with my faithful old friend. On two occasions in the space of 18 months she brought him back from the brink. On the first of these occasions my dog was lame and within minutes of treatment had regained the use of his leg. On the second occasion my dog had had a stroke and was paralysed and distressed. I had telephoned the vet, requesting a home visit and steeling myself for the inevitable lethal injection. However, fortunately I managed to get hold of Christine prior to the vet’s visit and after administering Bowen, by the time the vet arrived my dog was fully mobile and had returned to his former self. I was so grateful for the extra twelve months we had together.
After hundreds of pounds spent at the vet I turned to Canine Bowen on recommendation, as the vets were talking MRI scans and operations and neurologists for my dog who had suddenly been taken with a spinal problem; probably caused whilst romping in the fields. She had a strange shape to her spine and could only walk with pain and difficulty, she could hardly eat and life was a burden to her. On phoning Christine the dog seemed to pick up as if knowing that good things were on the way. An urgent appointment the next day gave amazing improvements day by day for three days after which essentially the problem had disappeared. I'd certainly recommend Canine Bowen to any dog owner whose dog had any physical injury or condition,
